Seasonal Outdoor Furniture Maintenance Checklist
Home Maintenance
To keep your outdoor furniture looking its best, follow this seasonal maintenance checklist. Begin by removing any debris or dirt using a soft-bristled brush or damp cloth. Check metal parts for rust or corrosion and apply a rust inhibitor if necessary. Inspect cushions and pillows for wear or damage and replace as needed. Apply a protective coating to wooden furniture to prevent sun and moisture damage. Tighten any loose bolts or screws and store furniture in a dry, covered area during the off-season. Apply a UV protectant to plastic or resin furniture to prevent fading and cracking. Inspect umbrellas or canopies for damage and repair or replace as needed. Clean glass or metal surfaces with a non-abrasive cleaner. Finally, check the levelness of the furniture and adjust legs or supports as needed.
