Seasonal Gutter Cleaning Checklist

Home Maintenance

As the seasons change, it's important to add gutter cleaning to your home maintenance checklist. To ensure a successful cleaning, start by checking the weather forecast for the next few days to ensure it will be dry. Gather all necessary tools and equipment, including a ladder, gloves, a bucket, a trowel, and a hose. Inspect the gutters for any visible damage or signs of wear and tear, and remove any debris using a trowel or gloved hands. Use a hose to flush out any remaining debris and check for proper water flow. Inspect the downspouts for any clogs or blockages and clear them if necessary. Check the gutter hangers and brackets for any signs of damage or looseness and tighten or replace as needed. Inspect the roof, fascia, and soffit for any visible damage or signs of wear and tear, and dispose of all debris properly. Finally, schedule a follow-up cleaning for the next season.
