A restful night's sleep is essential for a healthy mind and body. To ensure you get the best sleep possible, follow this bedtime checklist. First, turn off all electronic devices at least 30 minutes before bedtime to allow your mind to unwind. Dim the lights in your bedroom to create a relaxing atmosphere and take a warm bath or shower to help your body relax. Put on comfortable sleepwear and make sure your bedroom is at a comfortable temperature. Use a white noise machine or earplugs to block out any distracting sounds and practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or meditation. Read a book or listen to calming music to help your mind unwind and write down any thoughts or worries in a journal to clear your mind. Set your alarm for the next day and place it out of reach to avoid hitting snooze. Finally, turn off all lights and go to bed at a consistent time every night.
