Baby's first foods checklist
Baby
This checklist provides a step-by-step guide for introducing solid foods to your baby. Before starting, it's important to check with your pediatrician to ensure your baby is ready. Begin with a single-grain cereal mixed with breast milk or formula, offering a small amount on a soft-tipped spoon. Watch for signs that your baby is ready for more and gradually introduce pureed fruits and vegetables, one at a time, waiting a few days between each new food to check for allergies. Increase the thickness of the purees as your baby gets used to eating and offer finger foods once they can pick up and chew food. Continue to breastfeed or offer formula alongside solid foods until your baby is at least 12 months old and keep a record of the foods your baby has tried and any reactions they may have had.
